Donations are a critical source of funding for SickKids that is separate and distinct from government and granting agencies. Funds go towards infrastructure and supporting the essential work of physicians, researchers and scientists.
With your help:
- We care for more than 100,000 patients every year;
- We do open-heart surgeries on babies small enough to fit in the palm of your hand;
- We correct terrible deformities, heal cancers and treat massive burns;
- We invent treatments that 20 years ago people would have dismissed as science fiction;
- We continue to have a profound impact on the lives of children through novel, innovative treatment plans;
- We make discoveries that mean less pain for children, a higher survival rate and less time in hospital; and
- We purchase state-of-the-art equipment and update facilities, which enable us to attract the best doctors, researchers and nurses.
